Sales and sales training is my passion. 

After leaving the Royal Air Force there wasn't much in the 'working world' which sparked my interest. However, I did find an opportunity and a mentor, working part time with a sales organisation who promised me riches beyond my wildest dreams. If I could learn the skills needed to sell, recruit and train others, I would be rich. Call me naïve, but I mastered all of that and still didn't get rich. 
 
Direct sales came along and really changed my thinking on the world of sales and sales training. I have now been actively selling products and services for over 35 years. Coaching came along in the early 90's and I earned two diplomas in business performance coaching and life coaching. I have been a sales and business coach for 20yrs. 
My style of selling has nothing to do with simply pitching Features & Benefits then 'closing'. I am all about educating and influencing the prospect into 'wanting' to buy from me. Of course there are still basic sales rules to apply - however - these are intrinsically woven into my influencing process. In today's world people love to buy, BUT do not want to be 'sold' to. We need to engage prospects and influence them in ways which ensure our product is the ONLY product they want. 
The world has changed (a lot) since I began my sales journey. The internet, regulations, cancellation periods etc have made customers more savvy, and they will not simply sign on the dotted line just because a pushy sales person offers them a drop close. Which is only right and proper. 
My philosophy is to strike a good work/life balance, never be too busy to enjoy your hobbies. Deliver a great service at an affordable cost, treat others as you would like to be treated yourself, maintain discipline, integrity and honesty at all costs. Live by these simple tenets and you will be successful in all that you choose.
